Southwest Trip Planning

It's that time, Spring is here, temperatures are warming, and trip planning gets serious for our 3rd southwestern excursion: heading to Silver City for the annual Tour of the Gila bicycle stage races in early May. A great opportunity before it heats up and the crowds arrive. The Grand Canyon is to be featured this trip, the South Rim on the way there, the North Rim when it opens in mid-May on the return.
Gotta pass on the Skywalk, for now. Maybe after there's one in Yosemite.

Grand Canyon Sky Walk

I have been following the development of the Skywalk since first heard about it 3 years ago, as it was being considered and financed. It should be a boon for economic development for the poor tribe, but at a cost to their and our heritage.
Mimi, don't look down!
Just waiting until there's a base jump from here!

Now, I would like to see this dude go for it!

Borat

Mimi's at the gym for her class while I get to do my workout at home (at bit of PT). I forgot to have her return the video we watched last night, Borat. We laughed throughout. Gross and to the point. Some great outtakes, too. He must be a repressed Naturist, hanging loose. So, now I got to make a trip to return it; it must be bike time as the thunderstorm has passed through and the sun is trying to return.

Menagerie

Found on our doorstep in 1994 after being left by a neighbor, Sammy (on the right) is the proverbial "King" of the animal castle around here, being the heavyweight male -- fixed, for sure, keeping herd over the other fraidy cat(s) of the day. And, of course, any dog stupid enough to get too close. Has been found sleeping on neighbor's beds, entering through open windows.
And Sierra (on left) is the proverbial she-killer of all moving things, including your hand. One's hand is not quicker than her claws! She came in a package deal with Sam.
Lab Teddy does a pretty good tennis ball fetch off the back porch; my leg gets a workout, and so do hers to and from the back of the yard. Often mistaken for a porker ready for stuffing at the luau. Getting up in years (13), but hasn't lost her zest for eating.

Mimi

Being new to all this, first, I want to introduce you to the one who makes it all happen for me, my spouse, Mimi, who really makes everything go around here.

MADtv - iRack (including blooper in the end)

Can't pass up posting my first YouTube video to my new blog. It's a (learning) trip for my rejuvenating brain cells. And, especially, when I find that when I forwarded "iRack" to some federal friends, their server must have it out for YouTube as one replied: "this is filtered and didnt make it through the little holes. Evidently I have to get special permission now to open the youtube web site." Imagine that, keeping those federal workers chained to their stations with just work to do!

First Timer!

Time to blog! A good way to track our travels with links to photos and families. Let's get it on!
